Mission Statement
The Mission of Bothkennar and Carronshore Church, is to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ, from the Church, into the Parish and Beyond.

The Parish
The Parish is a semi rural charge on the outskirts of Falkirk and covers an area of approximately three and a half square miles. with a population of 6,249.

There are many schools within the Falkirk area, and we also have, as you might expect from a town in the centre of Scotland, excellent motorway, rail and bus links.

Although the Parish is quite spread out, it has a strong local identity, and is a mixture of urban and rural communities.

General Information
We have permission to call a Minister without restriction.

There has been a considerable population increase in Carronshore over the past decade, due to several new private estates being built, however the Church's penetration in this new community falls short of what could reasonably be expected. There is likewise a great opportunity to develop links with the youth in the villages.

The Church Buildings
There has been a Church on the site since 1574. The present building was restored in 1789 and is kept in good repair.

The union between Carronshore Church and Bothkennar took place in 1944, the Church of Bothkennar being adopted as the place of worship. The Church seats 600, and the property is in good condition throughout. The Church hall is adjacent to the Church and seats 120

The Kirk Session
The Kirk session meets on a regular basis and has 30 members, the Board has 18 members.

We are however encouraged by the fact that we have a good influx of younger members both in the Session and on the Board.

The ManseBothkennar Carronshore Manse
The Manse

The Manse. 11, Hunter Place, Falkirk.

The Manse is situated in a private estate on the outskirts of Carronshore, approximately 5 minutes drive from the Church building. It is a 4 bed-roomed house in a quiet cul-de-sac. The property boasts a mono-blocked area to the front of the house, and a garage to the side. To the rear of the property there is a good sized, well established garden. At present the property is undergoing re-decoration in preparation for the appointment of our new Minister.

A Recommendation
A Recommendation. From our Locum Minister - Rev James Brown BSc. BD. BA. DPsychol.

I have thoroughly enjoyed working with and getting to know the folk at Bothkennar. I have found them to be a caring people, warm friendly, dependable, hospitable, hard working and reliable.

Bothkennar is served well by good office bearers, with a very able choir, led by a very good organist and choirmaster, who lead our praise Sunday by Sunday, with enthusiasm and great ability.

The attendance at Church is good, although we, like every other church would like more, our folk are faithful, good hearted, and very supportive.

The Sunday school is building up, and has good teachers.

One feels welcome at Bothkennar.
